Should you get a MTG Bloomburrow Bundle?

The latest Magic: The Gathering set just had its pre-release weekend and of course that means news cards and new bundles for you to grab like the MTG Bloomburrow Bundle. If you are not familiar with Magic: The Gathering it is a trading card game that has been around 30+ years now and is one of the best games you can play digitally or on table top. Appalachia Insider has a community built around the tabletop community called AppalachiaTCG which you can go visit and become a part of.

A Bundle from Magic the Gathering usually comes with 9 packs of cards, 2 packs of lands, a special dice and a Promo Foiled card. It’s usually a pretty sweet deal and hard to pass up. In this article and video we will let you know is the Bloomburrow Bundle holds up and if you should purchase one.

What is the MTG Bloomburrow Bundle?

What used to be a FATPACK back in the day was even sold at Walmart, from what I remember. Wizards of the Coast have released a product now called the Bundle. The Bundle usually comes with 9 packs of the latest set, 2 packs of lands, some extra art, and a sweet 20-sided dice health counter. Obviously, you could use the dice for whatever you want in other games, but it is based on and made to resemble the latest set. Bloomburrow is a callback to the golden days of Magic: The Gathering, if you ask me. It’s nothing but creatures like raccoons, frogs, otters, turtles, squirrels, and more!

My favorite being the squirrels as they’ve been a staple of MTG for a long time.

The MTG Bloomburrow Bundle and release has been nothing but a positive response from everything I’ve seen online, and locally. It’s been praised by the art, and even the commander sets have been praised that WOTC know how to make a manabase that is ready for play (Will be reviewing a commander deck soon be sure to subscribe to youtube!)

Pros of Getting the MTG Bloomburrow Bundle

Below I will list the pros of getting the MTG Bloomburrow Bundle since I’ve now opened one and can share my thoughts on the produce.

  • Bang for your buck. – If you bought 9 loose packs for $4.99 at most Local Game Stores (my favorite being East KY Cards and Collectibles) you could literally be spending almost the exact same amount and you couldn’t even get all the land or promotional card.
  • Nice box. – You also get a nice box to stick all of your bulk in, and whenever it comes to collecting Magic: The Gathering you will be wanting all the extra storage boxes you can get. It’s also a nice way to keep the sets separated, although it doesn’t hold a TON it should hold a full booster box if you decided to crack open a full one.

Cons of Getting the MTG Bloomburrow Bundle

Here we will be talking about the cons of getting the MTG Bloomburrow Bundle.

  • Only 9 packs. – If you do end up getting a booster box now called (Play Boosters) you might end up better off if you are going on a chase. You end up paying a little less than if you just bought the packs outright. So if you are wanting a mass amount of packs to crack without all the extras then you should probably stick to booster boxes instead.
  • MTG Bloomburrow Bundle is not for collectors. – You won’t be hitting many high-end cards in the bundle as the bundle only has play boosters included in it. You can get foils, and you can get showcase or borderless cards. But, you won’t be hitting any of the crazy foils, serialized, or anime cards. You will have to buy a collectors pack to be able to go for one of those.

Who Should Consider Buying the MTG Bloomburrow Bundle?

If you are a hardcore collector then you shouldn’t be wasting money on bundles. Although I think the MTG Bloomburrow Bundle is great, if you are going for chase cards then you have to stick the collectors packs. I always pick up bundles whenever I see one out and it’s a knee-jerk reaction for one. Wizards of the coast did however make this one of the better bundles I’ve ever gotten. It looks I didn’t get a single old art style land and they are all full arts… which is much different than I remember.

I do however enjoy the boxes, and the art. Like I said in the pros column, it’s a great little deal if you wanted to like 9 packs, plus you get extra land and a sweet dice. It’s good to store cards in and pack them around, they are very durable and don’t feel cheap at all. If you are deciding to buy like 9 packs which is normally around the $45 + Tax mark you might as well get a bundle, get a nice box, extra lands and more.

Conclusion and Final Thoughts on the MTG Bloomburrow Bundle

The Bloomburrow set has been great everyone seems to be a BIG fan of all the cute and cuddle creatures. You can’t really gone wrong with the MTG Bloomburrow Bundle if you are out and about and want to pick up a new set of Bloomburrow on an impulse buy. I think if you are overally pleased with the Bloomburrow bundle then you will be wanting to buy even more, then you can start going after booster boxes and maybe even a few collector packs if you get even more serious.

As always thought one final comment if you are looking for a specific card and thinking you are going to hit it in 1 booster box, 1 bundle, 1 collector’s pack and are trying to save money. You are better off just buying the single at a store or offline. Now the question is, are bloomburrow collector boosters worth it?
